rich young ruler

He had met this Jesus and could not forget him, even though he had left, and did not like Jesus telling him to sell all his things and give to the poor and follow him. He had it all ever since he was a child he had been denied nothing. He was rich and liked it. Why did he go to Jesus, because he felt as if there had to be more. Being rich was not enough, he had a hole inside that giving sacrifices did not fill. He was searching for God, for a better relationship, he gave to the synogoge didn't he. He sometimes gave to beggars. He was nice to people and he took good care of his servants. He heard about this new Rabbi and how people were changed just from one meeting, he knew the Pharisees did not like him, or the Sadducees. They never seemed to like anyone, and they were very full of themselves. This Rabbi did seem to attract the poor, yet he had heard of his healings, and Jesus had healed some rich people also.
He just could not get the way Jesus had looked into his soul and seen the sin of selfisness there.
He had it all and wanted to keep it, but if he wasn't happy, then did money mean anything.
He started small, and gave the school some things they needed, he felt very rewarded, and he
had not even told them who it was from.
He helped his neighbors get a cow so they could have milk for their children. Then he helped other people get two goats so they could start a herd.
He helped people that was trying to make a go of it and it really felt good, and it seemed the more people he helped the more money he had.
He went to find Jesus to tell him, he was giving and that he wanted to follow him. He found
one of his disciples after a long search.
The disciple told him Jesus had been crucified, and rose again. He did not know what to say the disciple took him to John and John discipled him. He asked Jesus into his heart and found He was a new man.
He never needed wealth to be happy, he was happy giving and not hoarding and inside he had found peace.
He found what he was looking for when he obeyed Jesus, he wish he would have done it the first time, but still felt Jesus smiling on him.
